Gavin Williams is an award-winning writer and film maker based in Newcastle, UK. His début feature as a screenwriter, AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS, stars David Bradley (GAME OF THRONES) and was released in 2018 in the US, the UK, and continues to roll out worldwide in 2019. It is currently available to stream on Netflix in English-speaking territories. The film was a Critic’s Pick in the New York Times, received a glowing review from Mark Kermode on his Five Live review show with Simon Mayo, and has enjoyed near uniform critical endorsement (from the reviews: “a masterpiece of mounting tension”; “a legitimate masterstroke”; 82% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes). AFI won the Audience Award at the Cinepocalypse Film Festival, the Nocturno Nuove Visioni Award at Trieste Science+Fiction, and Special Jury mention. It is produced by Shudder films (GOD’S OWN COUNTRY), sales handled by the MPI Media Group.
Gavin’s short film, SLEEPWORKING, which he also directed, won eight awards, including Grand Jury Prize at the Science Fiction + Fantasy Short Film Festival at the Seattle EMP Museum, Prix du Jury at Utopiales International Festival of Science Fiction, and Best Director at the Salty Horror Film Festival. The film played at sixty international film festivals, including Screamfest, Leeds International Film Festival, Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival, Lund International Fantastic Film Festival.
As a writer Gavin has been commissioned by YTV, Channel 5, Carlton, Penguin, HTV, Corgi and Lego, among others. He worked on the Royal Television Society Award-Winning Alternate Reality Game, “Time Machine”.
